New York sports fans have been waiting forever for a dream matchup like the one on Sunday, November 10, 2019. Two franchises who supposedly don’t like each other depending on who you believe. That’s right everyone, it is time for the New York Stinker Bowl!
The 1-7 New York Jets face off with their stadium sharing 2-7 New York Giants for what will be a “battle” for the ages. Both teams are dreadful, one teams’ fan base is completely fed up while the other is able to be more optimistic about their young quarterback who seems to be improving week to week and their elite, once in a generation running back. It’s funny that the positive team description could easily work for the Jets and the Giants, if the Jets had any semblance of an offensive line or a coach who lived up to the self-proclaimed hype of being an offensive guru.
The truth is, record aside, these teams are extremely similar to each other which may actually make it a good game to watch. Ok, maybe I’m being optimistic. After all, the only thing people like about the Jets right now is that they beat the Dallas Cowboys. Both teams, offensive lines are dreadful, the Jets’ defense seems to be regressing of late while the Giants defense was not great to start with. Sam Darnold is clearly regressing, despite what he continues to say on his weekly spot on The Michael Kay Show. Daniel Jones’ biggest flaw is ball security but the Jets don’t get to the quarterback.
Will the putrid offense of the Jets carve up the putrid defense of the Giants? Will the Giants average offense carve up the regressing Jets defense? It’s a coin toss, as is this game. The betting line is 2.5, I don’t recommend anyone bet this game. Maybe I’m being a dumb fan, but I’m going Jets in this game, 20-14.
