RIP Black Mamba

Sunday afternoon, it was confirmed that Kobe Bryant was among others who fatally passed away in a helicopter crash. There are conflicting reports as to just who those four are at this time. The news turned twitter and all basketball fans, regardless of the team they root for, into an emotional frenzy.

At this point, there is no need to list the stats, the accolades, awards, and honors that Kobe accumulated through his career. You can ask someone who knows nothing about sports, they will know how great Kobe is. You can put an alien on this earth and ask him who the best player on the court was during a Laker game; they will answer Kobe. He is simply one of the best and most impactful professional basketball players of all time. Despite not being a Laker fan, Kobe Bryant was the reason I fell in love with basketball. His tenacious competitiveness and legendary work ethic were iconic and helped me in all aspects in life.

Kobe Bryant was taken from us far too soon, but his legacy will live on forever. The End of the Bench team send our condolences to Kobe Bryant’s family and friends during this difficult and tragic time.

“The most important thing is to try and inspire people so that they can be great in whatever they want to do.” – Kobe Bryant. Thank you Kobe, may you rest in peace.
