It Keeps Getting Worse For AB

If you have NFL alerts on your phone, you received an alert that on Wednesday evening there was a warrant issued for Antonio Brown’s arrest in connection to assault and battery charges. Antonio Brown has been in the news a lot this year. At first, it was all bad football stuff like showing up coaches, not wanting to practice, freezing his feet, not wanting to play for the Raiders anymore despite never playing a game for them, etc. It was bad, but in the grand scheme of life, it was just football drama.

Since then, it has escalated dramatically to where many around AB and the NFL are concerned about his mental health and his well being. Antonio is believed to have assaulted a moving truck driver and throwing rocks at his truck, as well as not paying him. These latest charges are just the latest as he was already being investigated for sexual assault and rape charges.

Many have insinuated that something is not right in Brown’s head and that it possibly stems from the vicious hit he suffered from Vontaez Burfict a few years back. Regardless of what it stems from, it seems clear that AB needs some sort of professional help.

Despite all that surrounds Brown at the moment, I am certain there are a number of teams would still want him lining up outside on their offense. While football should absolutely come secondary, maybe a team can do the right thing and make a contract offer to him contingent on him seeking some sort of professional help.

We at The End of the Bench hope that Brown gets his demons taken care of sooner rather than later before doing any more harm to others or himself.
